EDUC 555 Classroom Management

This course is designed to provide students with various strategies to enable them to successfully prepare for and manage a positive classroom setting. The components of the course will familiarize students with various theories of classroom management and causes of disruptive behavior. Activities will include effective classroom preparation, formulating procedures and rules, identifying and correcting inappropriate student behaviors, recognizing and accommodating exceptionalities and diversity, and establishing positive relationships with both students and parents.

Successful completion of a 45-hour field experience aligned with licensure area being sought is required to receive a passing grade in the course.

A grade of C or better is required.


Note: This course includes a 25-hour field placement in a content/grade-level appropriate classroom.
