Biology
The degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology requires successful completion of 120 semester hours including (1) the General Education Program (six hours of modern language is recommended); (2) the Core; (3) the Cognate; (4) one of the biology areas of emphasis; and (5) a program of electives or a minor as worked out with the student's adviser; recommended minors include chemistry, geology, physics, psychology, mathematics, computer science, or statistics.
A GPA of 2.00 is required.

Twelve (12) credit hours of 200 level or above courses within BIOL.

Eight (8) credit hours of 200 level or above courses within AT, BIOL, CHEM, CS. EXSS, GEOL, H ED, MATH, N SC, or PHYS. Note:
Students are recommended to take BIOL 202: Animals as Organisms, BIOL 301: Plants as Organisms, and BIOL 329: Microbiology. The same course cannot be used in multiple categories for credit. N SC 325 may only be used once to fulfill major or minor credit. One (1) BIOL 101 or BIOL 102 course may be used as a Directed Elective.
