Additional coursework in English will enrich any degree program. It represents a particular asset for students who plan to pursue graduate study and/ or careers in which critical thinking, reading, and writing skills are crucial (for example, law, communications, social services, government, etc.).

Note:  English minors are not intended for students already pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in English or a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with the English content specialization.

18 credit hours

• ENGL 101 Composition and Rhetoric I  (3)
• ENGL 102 Composition and Rhetoric II  (3)
• ENGL 301 The Study of Literature  (3)
• ENGL 203 World Literature I  (3) or ENGL 204 World Literature II  (3)
• 6 additional credit hours from any English 200, 300, or 400 level courses.
