Geospatial Information Science (Minor)

Geospatial Information Science (GIScience) refers to the methods and technologies used in the collection, analysis, and visualization of geospatial data.  These include geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning systems (GPS), remote sensing (e.g., satellite and drone technologies), and spatial statistics.  The minor in GIScience is appropriate for any major or discipline that uses spatial data to inform decision-making, including Biology, Business and Marketing, Computer Science, Criminology, Education, Health Sciences, Journalism, Political Science, and Social Work

Not open to Environmental Geoscience majors completing the Geospatial Information Science elective concentration or Computer Information Systems majors completing the Geospatial Science track.
