The general objective of the psychology program is to prepare students for professional training in the field of psychology by providing an overview of the essential methods and findings of experimental, clinical, and theoretical psychology. The primary theoretical orientation of the program is behavioral although students will be exposed to multiple theoretical orientations. The scientist-practitioner model is emphasized in applied courses. Opportunities are provided for both human and non-human experimental research through environmental manipulation.
Students seeking the Bachelor of Science degree may earn a major or a minor in psychology. Note the required grade average as described in the Department of Social Sciences.
