Sociology (Minor)

The goal of Sociology is to provide an understanding of the scientific study of social problems and human behavior in social settings. Sociology is concerned with causes and solutions for social problems, and the growth of the individual within the wider context of society. In the study of sociology, the student is encouraged to develop a theoretical framework and techniques of investigation useful for analysis and insight into group behavior.

A GPA of 2.0 is required.

Sociology Minor Requirements:

15 Total Credit Hours

SOC 101 Introduction to Sociology (3)
Twelve (12) hours of Sociology electives*

*Nine (9) of which must be at the 300 level or higher.

Note: No more than three (3) hours of SOC 450 Sociology Internship may count toward the minor.
