The Fine Arts and Media Department provides hands-on training in a wide variety of communication so that students are well-equipped for careers in communication fields throughout the United States and the world. The mission of the department is to create well-rounded, highly-skilled, ethically-minded students in the area of Multimedia Communication.
The Bachelor of Science in Communication Arts requires the successful completion of 120 semester hours, including (1) the General Education Program ; and, (2) the completion of the required courses in the area of Multimedia Communication. A minor in Theatre is also available for students pursuing this degree.
For graduation, majors must achieve a combined grade point average of at least 2.50 in all departmental requirements.
General Education Requirements:
Within the General Education curriculum provided by the University, multimedia communication students are required to take COMM 101 . Taking one year of modern language is strongly recommended. Substitutions of the other general education courses may be taken as per the modern language substitution policy.
Minors in either Digital Communication, Multimedia Communication, and Theatre are available.
