The International Studies Area of Emphasis will help prepare students for the challenges of the global future by giving them greater knowledge of the diverse social, cultural, political and economic issues affecting our increasingly interdependent world. The International Studies Area of Emphasis can be used to supplement any major. The requirements for this emphasis are outlined below and are the same as the IDS program in international studies .
