Psychology
The general objective of the psychology program is to prepare students for professional training in the field of psychology by providing an overview of the essential methods and findings of experimental, clinical, and theoretical psychology. The primary theoretical orientation of the program is behavioral although the students will be exposed to multiple theoretical orientations. The scientist-practitioner model is emphasized in applied courses. Opportunities are provided for both human and non-human experimental research through environmental manipulation.
Students seeking the Bachelor of Arts degree may earn a major or a minor in psychology. Note required grade average as described in the Division of Social Sciences .
Television Courses
The Department of Psychology, in general, will not grant credit hours for the major or minor by educational television programming. Exceptions may be made with departmental consent. Psychology Minor Requirements:
15 Hours Electives for Minors and Majors
Psychology majors may select only 3 hours of electives from Group I and must select at least 3 hours of electives from Group III.
Psychology minors may select only 3 hours of electives from Group I. |
