Mathematics (BS)

Core Requirements:

The degree of Bachelor of Science with a major in mathematics requires successful completion of 120 semester hours, including (1) the Program of General Studies which must include six hours of one modern language; (2) one of the mathematics programs; (3) a minor (where required); and (4) a program of electives.

Mathematics Major Requirements

37-43 Hours*

Three hours from the following:

MATH 403 Differential Equations (3)
MATH 404 Mathematical Probability and Statistics II (3)
MATH 425 Linear Algebra (3)
MATH 452 Real Analysis II (3)
MATH 460 Numerical Analysis (3)
MATH 470 Independent Study (1-6)
and, with consent of chairman
MATH 420 Special Topics (3)

*Recommended:

Eight hours of physics and three additional hours of computer programming.

Note:

A minor is required-computer science and statistics are acceptable options.
