It is my pleasure to welcome you to Concord University. Accomplished students have a variety of institutions from which to choose to continue their educations. Why do they choose Concord University? For over 142 years, students have been given the opportunity to work with expert faculty, staff and administrators, people dedicated to students’ success in the classroom, in laboratory and internship settings and in enhancing their long-term futures. We are committed to seeing you graduate and strive to help you to achieve the goal of earning your degree in a field that matters most to you.
As you begin your journey in college, we expect you will find challenging classes and leaders who encourage and empower you to succeed while serving others. Concord University attracts faculty who wish to be on a campus where teaching, personal attention, and scholarly activity are valued and affirmed. Our alumni are successful leaders who maintain connections to the University and who seek to encourage current students in their chosen fields. Programmatic accreditations are held with the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, and the Council on Social Work Education. The Teacher Education Program is approved by the West Virginia Department of Education. The University is a member of the National Association of Business Teacher Education.
