SOWK 307 Practice with Individuals and Families (3) Prerequisites: Social Work major; formal admission to the Social Work Program, SOWK 161 , SOWK 229 , SOWK 236 , SOWK 237 , SOWK 370 , PSY 101 , SOC 101 , ENGL 101 , ENGL 102 , SOWK 271 . Methods of intervention appropriate for working with individuals and families are emphasized. Focuses on the basic knowledge, values, and skills appropriate for a generalist social work practitioner at the beginning professional level of social work practice. The practice components of engagement, assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, termination, and follow-up with individuals and families are utilized. A grade of C or better is required in this course to enter SOWK 4601 and SOWK 4602.
