Prerequisites: CHEM 101 , CHEM 111 .
Co-requisites: CHEM 112 .

A continuation of CHEM 101 with focus on phase changes, chemical equilibria including acid-base equilibrium, chemical kinetics, thermochemistry, electrochemistry, nuclear chemistry, and applications. Includes emphasis on developing problem solving-skills and communication through an independent research project component. Must be taken concurrently with CHEM 112.

Three hours lecture.
