SOWK 541 Foundations of Research (3) This is the first of two required research courses. It is required for all students in the Foundation curriculum. The course emphasizes the development of the quantitative and qualitative research knowledge necessary for evidence-based practice and the use of practice to inform research. Students are introduced to the concepts and skills underlying a systematic approach to social work research, including but not limited to, the roles of concepts and theory, hypothesis formulation, operationalization, research design, data collection, data processing, statistical analysis, computer skills, and research report writing.
