Core Requirements:
The degree of Bachelor of Science in Biology requires successful completion of 120 semester hours including (1) the Program of General Studies (six hours of modern language is recommended); (2) one of the biology areas of emphasis; and (3) a program of electives or a minor as worked out with the student's adviser; recommended minors include chemistry, geology, physics, psychology, mathematics, computer science, or statistics. Biology - Preprofessional Requirements:
78 Hours One course from the following:
7-13 hours in Mathematics
10 hours of Science Electives
At least 6 hours in biology; N SC 300C /N SC 300D /N SC 300E may be substituted for three of these hours *Note:
Science electives for each program may come from courses listed under Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Mathematics (course numbers 200 and higher), N SC 300C /N SC 300D /N SC 300E , or PSY 370 and/or PSY 402 . N SC 325 may be used only once to fulfill science elective credit.
MATH 103 and/or 104 will be waived for those students establishing "equivalent proficiency" as defined by the Department of Mathematics (Mathematics ACT 25 or 28) |
