SOC 399 Quantitative Research Methods (3) Prerequisites: Junior standing or consent of instructor. Basic techniques of quantitative research in the social sciences are covered including development of hypotheses, identification of variables, reliability, validity and sampling. Specific methods of quantitative data collection, such as survey research, secondary data analysis and content analysis are examined. Students develop a quantitative research proposal.
