EDSP 415 Co-Teaching, Consultation, and Collaboration (3) Prerequisites: Acceptance into Year-Long Residency I. The course provides education majors an overview of special education and the federal requirements that govern the educational process. The course is designed to prepare teacher candidates to meet the diverse needs of all learners in inclusive education environments. Emphasis is placed on the identification of the individual needs of special education students and the development of effective instructional strategies/teaching techniques to address those needs. Topics will include; collaboration and co-teaching, parent and community involvement, social and multicultural issues, and classroom management techniques. This course is part of the Year-Long Residency I for education majors. A grade of C or better is required.
