Prerequisites: CHEM 102 , CHEM 112 .
Co-requisites: CHEM 417 .

Examination of the structure of atoms and the bonding in inorganic materials, including coordination and organometallic compounds. Includes molecular symmetry,crystallography, spectroscopy (vibrational and electronic spectral analysis, ligand-field theory), mechanisms of inorganic reactions, and applications in catalysis and medicine. Must be taken concurrently with CHEM 417.
