Prerequisites: One of the following: GEO 101 , GEO 140 , or PHSC 104 .

Recommended: One course from GEO 302 , GEO 305 , GEO 365 , or GEO 385 .
Co-requisites: GEO 404L

Techniques and practice of geologic data collection and field mapping in diverse settings. Includes map and cross-section preparation, outcrop and site analysis, field geophysical surveys, and written interpretive reports. A project-based course focusing on field sites in the Appalachians. Additional fee for travel may be required.

One hour lecture, six hours lab or field
